Advent is just around the corner. It has been a challenging year for many of us, and November is somehow always intensely busy as extra-murals, co-ops, and schools wrap up their activities for the year.
We don't want to add to your already-busy December, but we do wish to remind you to take some time out for yourself each week. Charlotte Mason said, “If mothers could learn to do for themselves what they do for their children when these are overdone, we should have happier households! Let the mother go out to play!” Don't get so wrapped up in the doing this December, that you neglect the being.
With that end in mind, we have put together this mini readalong for Advent.
1st - 7th December: The Fir Tree by Hans Christian Andersen
8th - 14th December: The Beggar Boy at Christ's Christmas Tree by Fyodor Dostoevsky
15th - 21st December: The Tailor of Gloucestor by Beatrix Potter
22nd - 28th December: The Gifts of the Christ Child by George MacDonald
Enjoy the stories on your own, or with your families, and join us for discussion on the Hive.
May you be refreshed this December.
I love that this is such an easy selection of books. Thanks Mel.
